For 40 years, the Broadstairs Writers' Circle has welcomed writers of all ages and levels of experience from those just starting on their first literary work to many-times-published authors. We all share a common love for writing. Members are encouraged to explore their skills to the fullest and achieve what they aspire to in the world of literature be it fiction or poetry.

“Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it’s the answer to everything. … It’s the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it’s a cactus.”
“The road to hell is paved with works-in-progress.”
“Remember: Plot is no more than footprints left in the snow after your characters have run by on their way to incredible destinations.”
“When I say work I only mean writing. Everything else is just odd jobs.”
